EVENTS

World AIDS Day is one of the most globally recognised events of the year. World AIDS Day is celebrated across Australia to:

- Encourage the community to talk about HIV/AIDS

- Raise community awareness

- Break down barriers

- Educate our community

There are many ways you can support this global effort. Get involved this World AIDS Day by supporting one or all of the following activities.

HOST A RED DINNER

Some dinner tables don't see any action. It's sad, but true. So for this year's World AIDS Day, it's time for yours to get laid. And all for a good cause with help from the Queensland World AIDS Day Alliance.

Simply gather a bunch of your nearest and dearest and host a RED themed dinner party!

Contact wad@qpp.org.au for more information.

WORLD AIDS DAY CANDLELIGHT VIGIL

An intrinsic part of World AIDS Day activities is the Candlelight Vigil. Held from 6.45pm on Sunday, 1 December at Captain Burke Park Kangaroo Point. This important event is an opportunity for us to stop and remember all those we have loved and lost since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

This event is open to all - admission is free and bookings are not required.

Whatever you decide to do on World AIDS Day, we all like to look good. So why not pick out a red number out of your closet, and make advocacy a part of your wardobe. You could even frock up in red for your dinner party. Either way, when someone comments on how fabulous you look you'll have an opportunity to tell them all about World AIDS Day and what you're doing to support it.
